Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Madekwe is English, and her father was Nigerian. She was raised on the South London Council Estate. She was a student at The Brit School aged 14. In London, she studied at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in which her acting diploma was obtained. At the academy and performing in numerous stage productions including the King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest on Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer is her role in the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. Following this acclaim, she played Elisha in the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured for six seasons Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, she was offered the part as Bambi on The ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl and was featured in the episodes two and three. Madekwe starred in the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009, with the dramatic The Beautiful Life. The drama aired for just two episodes prior to being ended on The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama series was cast to play Ashley Davenport. Madekwe was a regular in the drama series on ABC Revenge in two episodes. The show was announced in May 2013 that she was set to leave the series after making a guest episode in the very first season of the third. From 2014 to 2016, she starred in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe got married to her long-time partner, Iddo. They have worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also was a character in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for the Gemini Award, comes from an extensive Hamilton family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty as well as four of their older brothers: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's brothers, who were all very physically active, were all playing hockey in the winter months and played baseball in the summer months, which means she basically grew up in arenas and baseball parks. Ashley was not a walker, but she danced. In the age of two and half, she found Baby Ballet. Ashley was enthralled by dance after this. Ashley continued to dance competitively throughout high school with top divisions like ballet, tap, Jazz, Pointe, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical Hip Hop, and more. The big dance events, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the title "top Soloist".
